Montana Rail Link
Gallatin River Bank Improvement Project
- ERG prepared designs and obtained permits for construction of rock riprap protection on the Gallatin River upstream from Logan, MT.
- River migration had caused 500 feet of rail line embankment to be eroded, potentially compromising the integrity of the track’s loading prism.
- ERG conducted a site inspection with representatives from the pertinent regulatory agencies, developed a design incorporating agency requests with engineering requirements, and coordinated the application for and receipt of the appropriate Clean Water Act and Floodplain permits.
- The design included a bench located at the two-year recurrence interval elevation for riparian vegetation.
